Control of Action

Several researchers at Penn have interests in the control of action. Issues being addressed include the neural processes that underlie the learning of new motor skills (Medina), the role of brain and biomechanics in the control of timing by highly skilled performers (Sternberg), and the control by hormones and neural circuits of reproductive and ingestive behaviors (Flanagan-Cato, Grill).
