In a computer-controlled laboratory students will repeat several
classic experiments on how people process information,
and will analyze and report on their findings.
Topics include:
Students will learn about the interpretation of error,
reaction-time, and interresponse-time data,
will make use of
signal-detection theory and the additive-factor method to make
inferences about underlying processes,
and will consider various models
of mental operations, including serial, parallel, and hierarchical
models.
Instructor's permission required.
