Analysis of mental processes in adult humans: Attention, Pattern Recognition, Memory, Timing, Action Sequences. Introduction to major theoretical issues, phenomena, experimental methods, analytic tools, and models. Emphasis on laboratory methods and on inferences from data to mechanism. Students repeat classic experiments in a computer-run lab.

This proseminar was last taught in 1998. This area has been advancing rapidly, so the syllabus in 2002 will differ, but the 1998 syllabus indicates the flavor.
